2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
--KJV
In the name of the One Who wants us to separate from apostates. Amen.
“We all worship the same God.” This is the battle cry of those want all churches to be united, no matter what their doctrine is. But the Lord warns us clearly in His word. First we know that those who reject Jesus reject the Father. Then we are told that there are many who cry “Lord, Lord,” who are not in the True Faith. Finally we see that the apostates teach the doctrines of demons. So the Lord calls us to separate ourselves from apostates. We are to “Come out from among them and be separate.” Why? So that Lord will receive us and be our Father. We are God’s children, and He loves us. He will keep us in the True Faith, but we are not to put ourselves in harm’s way either. Out of His great love for us, He warns us about all the dangers so that we may separate from apostates and remain His dear children. Amen.
Prayer:
Lord God our heavenly Father, give us the courage to separate ourselves from those who turn away from You. More than that, preserve our congregations in the True Faith so that together we may work for the glory of Your holy name. Bless us by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, so that we may see and avoid error. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
