1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

In the name of the One Who warns of the apostasy of the last days. Amen.
It doesn’t take a mental giant to see that this apostasy (falling away) has already taken place. In fact, it has happened several times over. So, if we look at what the Spirit warns us of here, we can easily see which teachers we should avoid. After all, who wants to have his ears filled with the doctrines of devils? Apostasy is a work of the devil, and the devil has no chance of winning. The only thing he can do is try to steal precious souls away from Christ, and he works overtime at that. But here again the spirit warns us of the danger. We know what to avoid in order to keep ourselves from apostasy. Tomorrow we will look at the things we need to be around in order to remain in the faith. For our Lord provides us with the very things needed to strengthen our faith. Amen.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, all around us there are teachers who have turned away from the faith. But You have warned us of the things for which we should look out. Give us the courage to avoid the teachers of apostasy and remain faithful to the doctrine You have revealed. We ask this in our Savior Jesus’ name. Amen.
